Our Teachers
Kasia Kozlowska
Kasia was lucky enough to start her yoga practice when she was still a teenager. Faced with some turbulence in her life, she was on a pathway to dropping out from her studies when an observant teacher pulled her to one side, and suggested that she take up yoga. Armed with a VHS found in a charity shop she began to practise regularly and soon found she was becoming calmer and more focussed.
From that moment on yoga remained a friend that could be relied on to help increase inner peace and self-acceptance, as well as strengthening the mind and body. In 2020, after many years on the mat as a practitioner, Kasia decided it was time to deepen her exploration of the yoga practice and undertook a life-changing teacher training course with Stewart Gilchrist.
Kasia is grateful to all of her teachers, but especially to Stewart for helping her find her voice and confidence, and to the compassionate school teacher who set her on this path of lifelong learning and growth.
You can expect a challenging yet accessible class, taught with good humour, that will leave you feeling balanced and energised.
Kester Hynds
Kester has been practising martial arts from a young age and has been involved in diverse movement practices such as dance, contact improvisation, and aerial circus. Following a nasty bicycle accident in 2014 Kester turned to yoga to help rehabilitate and strengthen his body, but soon found that the benefits of a regular practice also helped to balance and calm the mind, and extended beyond the mat to influence daily life. He took his first teacher training in 2018. Kester teaches from an Ashtanga foundation but is heavily influenced by other yoga practices, such as Yogasana and Dharma, as well as the other movement disciplines he is involved with. Since 2015 Kester has been practising Vipassana meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka.
Kester gives thanks to the many teachers who have helped him on his journey, including Joy (Kunkanit) Phrombut and Ricardo Martin, David Swenson, Stewart Gilchrist, Emi Tull, Ellie Steel, and S.N. Goenka (Goenkaji).
Expect a fun, vigorous, and centred practice with a focus on breath and awareness.
Kester is also a Physical Trainer and Movement Instructor — you can find out more at WILD and PHYSICAL.
